What is brand Photography?
Chances are you’ve heard the term Brand Photography. But what actually is it?
Think of a couple of businesses that you know that have a really strong brand. Why do they stand out to you? Is it their logo? the colours they use? the way they make you feel?
One of my favourite brands is Virgin. I’ve bought wine from them (maybe too regularly) and used them for some amazing holidays. In every interaction, I’ve known I was dealing with Virgin. They have such a great way of making you feel special - whether it be through their intuitive websites or their customer service and communication. Every touchpoint is seamless and professional whilst being fun, and dare I say it? sexy.
You might not have a multi million budget like Virgin to create a brand and so might be tricked into thinking that you don’t have one. You do.
Your brand is what makes your business recognisable to others. Lots of elements come together to create a brand. Your logo, the language you use, the images you choose. Every business is unique and so even if you think you don’t have a brand, you have one. I would even go as far as to say you are your brand. YOU are the Richard Branson of your brand!
Your brand is what distinguishes you from your competition.
So, what is brand photography?
Brand Photography takes into account all of the elements mentioned above and turns them into pictures. It’s based on what you do and why you do it - who do you want to attract? How will your clients feel when they work with you? It helps you tell your story - what inspires you and makes you different to your competition? It enables you to build that all-important know, like and trust. People want to see the face behind the business and feel that they have a relationship with you before committing to working with you.
Your business is unique and the images you use to represent your business should be unique too!
